Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 21 Women’s Soccer Downed at Home by Hamilton, 2-0

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The No. 21 ranked Wesleyan women's soccer team was defeated by Hamilton, 2-0, on Sunday from Jackson Field. The Cardinals (4-2-1, 2-1-1 NESCAC) suffer their first NESCAC loss of the season while the Continentals (4-0-3, 2-0-3 NESCAC) remain undefeated on the season.

Hamilton controlled the pace of play throughout, generating 26 shots for the game (12 on-target) in a rain-soaked affair. Wesleyan generated a 7-3 edge in corner kicks but came away empty as the Cardinals were shutout for the first time this season.

Erin Rayhill booted the Continentals in front with a seeing-eye shot from distance in the 34th minute. Intercepting a pass from 40 yards out, Grossman took a few dribbles and with no on-ball pressure, she lined up a shot that lofted into the upper left corner of the net.

Hamilton pressed for another goal, firing four more shots in the next 5+ minutes before Wesleyan had a couple chances including a Waverly Meyers '26 free kick that sailed just wide before halftime.

Both teams had chances to start the second half, with each team landing multiple shots on-target in the opening 20+ minutes, but it was the Continentals who found the all-important next goal with Olivia Morrow finding the back of the net on a perfect right-footed shot that caromed off the upper right corner of the post and in.

Molly Brumbach '26 played well, making a career-high eight saves in just 45 minutes of action (all in the second half). Both Audrey Lavey '23 and Kerenza Leahey '27 had two shots on-goal for the Cardinals.

Wesleyan spends the next week preparing for a NESCAC road trip to Middlebury on Saturday for an 11 AM start.
