Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Points Shared in Medford as Men’s Soccer Draws with Tufts, 0-0

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night against Tufts from Bello Field. The Cardinals (3-1-3, 0-1-3 NESCAC) are still without a win in NESCAC play this season while the Jumbos (5-1-2, 2-1-2 NESCAC) see their three-game win streak come to a halt.

Josh Nadison '26 drew his first career start in net, playing the full 90 minutes and making three saves while recording a shutout. This is the fourth clean sheet of the season for the Cardinals through seven games.

After an uneventful opening 15 minutes, the Cardinals almost made something out of nothing as a cross in the box was pinged around before landing at the feet of Zach Feldman '27 who took a quick shot on-target that Nikola Antic had to dive to his left to knock away for a corner.

Just a few minutes later, Tufts' Sean Traynor was sent a through ball and was in on-goal one-on-one but Nadison was quick off his line, giving Traynor no time to line up a shot.

Another Jumbo chance came in the 22nd minute as the Jumbos had the ball played back from the end line to Mikey Brady just 15 feet from net. His right-footed attempt, destined for goal, was blocked away by a Cardinal defender.

The best chance of the game for either team came in the 55th minute as a through ball was played to Traynor sprinting up the right wing. Nadison again came far off his line and affected the play enough where Traynor couldn't get good contact on the ball as the shot caromed wide of net.

An unexpected opportunity materialized in the 57th minute when Miles Lambke '25 stepped up from his right back position and stepped into a volley hit with a good amount of pace towards net that Antic had to push aside for a corner kick.

Tufts appeared to have scored the opener in the 67th minute as a free kick along the right wing was wiped in towards Max Clivio who headed the ball inside the right post, but the sideline official had his flag raised for an offside.

The remaining 23+ minutes saw no quality scoring chances as the two sides settled for one point each in the NESCAC standings.

Next up for Wesleyan is another difficult NESCAC away game as the Cardinals head to Vermont to face No. 15 Middlebury at 12:00 PM on Saturday. The Cardinals are winless in their last eight trips to Middlebury.
