No. 19 Cardinals Little Three Co-Champions, Upending No. 15 Williams, 1-0

MIDDLETOWN, CT. – It continues to be a record season for the unbeaten No. 19 Wesleyan women's soccer team, now Little Three Co-Champions, as they threw down with No. 15 Williams College in a 1-0 shutout thanks to Stefanie Stoj's '26 late second-half goal.

It's been a record season for the Cardinals as they remain undefeated at 9-0-2 (5-0-2 NESCAC), their longest unbeaten streak in program history and their best overall record to date since 2021. With the win, the Cardinals are named Little Three Co-Champions with No. 2 Amherst. Both teams defeated the Ephs (6-3-2 overall, 5-2-1 NESCAC) 1-0, but the Cardinals drew scoreless with the Mammoths on Oct. 5.

While the Cardinals pitched their eighth shutout of the season, the most since 2022, junior goalkeeper Molly Brumbach '26 secured the win with two saves in goal, recording her seventh shutout of 2024. She now leads the NESCAC in shutouts as she continues in a career-high season.

The first 45 minutes of play went to the Ephs. Controlling much of the offensive push from the midfield, the Ephs were able to keep the Cardinals in their own defensive zone. The Ephs barely outshot the Cardinals at a 9-7 differential overall, but the Cardinals held the edge on goal and ultimately came away with the victory. Tori Rideau-Winds '26 and the defense allowed only two shots on goal through 90 minutes.

Stoj's opportunity finally came in the 67th minute as the Cardinals matched the Ephs energy to open the second half. Stoj, inside the box on the far side, caught Katie O'Connell's '25 high pass from out above on the near side and sent it flying high into the right ninety of her left foot.

Margaret Huelin and Ana Bozzi-Mackay combined for four saves in goal for the Ephs.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19, when they head to Bowdoin College for a 12 p.m. NESCAC kickoff.
