CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Wesleyan men's crew team saw the 2
nd varsity 8 boat place 15
th overall in the men's collegiate eights regatta on Sunday at the 2024 Head of the Charles. The Cardinals' varsity 8 was right behind in 18
th place out of 42 boats.
In a competition pitting boats across all three NCAA Divisions against one another, the Cardinals placed fourth-best among the Division III boats in the competition as Trinity placed fifth overall while Tufts finished sixth and Williams was seventh. La Salle won the event with a commanding time of 14:33.565.
The 2V8 clocked in at 15:17.482, moving up the field after a slower start to pace the afternoon for the Cardinals, finishing fourth-best among D3 competition. The Cardinals' V8 recorded a time of 15:20.974 which was good enough for 18
th place overall and sixth-best among the D3 boats.
The men's collegiate fours event saw Wesleyan place 26
th overall out of 42 boats, clocking in at 17:43.755.
The final event in the fall calendar for Wesleyan is on Saturday in Worcester at the Wormtown Chase.
