SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Wesleyan men's swimming & Diving team captured first-place finishes in the 100 fly and 200 IM on Saturday at a tri-meet with No. 14 Williams and Springfield.
Harrison Hong '25 won the 100 fly while
Brody Schrepfer '28 won the 200 IM in his first career competition. In the team scoring, Wesleyan (0-2) was defeated by the Ephs 198-90 and fell to Springfield 190-103.
Hong and Schrepfer opened their days helping the Cardinals finish in third place out of six teams in the 400-medley relay. The Cardinals combined for a time of 3:33.59.
Hong then posted a runner-up showing in the 100 back, finishing ahead of three Williams swimmers with his time of 53.04 seconds.
A pair of Cardinals landed Top 5 finishes in the 100 breast as
Nathan Wu '28 finished the event in third-place out of 12 swimmers with a time of 59.55 seconds.
Cooper Mayo '26 landed a fifth-place showing with a time of 1:02.21.
Nicky Wang '25 posted fifth-place in the 200 back (2:08.78) while Wu came up with a second-place showing in the 200 breast at 2:12.83, finishing ahead of all Eph swimmers in the event.
Hong landed his win in the 100 fly towards the end of the day, as the senior topped a field of 11 swimmers, touching the wall in 50.62 seconds.
Schrepfer then made it two first-place finishes on the day for Wesleyan with his time of 1:58.57 that topped a field of 12 swimmers.
Wesleyan is back in action on Saturday as they play host to Bates for a dual meet at 1 PM.
