Women’s hockey defeated on the road at No. 9 Trinity

HARTFORD, CT. – Scoring her fifth goal of the season, a career high, Brigitte Goeler-Slough '23 led the Wesleyan women's ice hockey team as they went head-to-head with No. 9 Trinity College in a 2-1 NESCAC loss on Friday night from Trinity's Albert Creighton Williams Rink.

After a scoreless first period, Goeler-Slough opened the scoring as she put the puck behind Bantams' (15-5-2 overall, 8-5-2 NESCAC) goaltender Hannah Leclaire. The Cardinals (11-9-3 overall, 6-7-2 NESCAC) crowded the goal with a flurry of shots leading up to Goeler-Slough's goal. Sam DeLeo '25 and Christina Tournas '25 each knocked two shots on Leclaire before Caroline Kee set up Goeler-Slough for the final shot of the play.

At 9:42, Jenny Guider tied the game up at one for the Bantams after Cardinals goaltender Rei Halloran '23 made a quick save on Lillian Cassidy.

With less than three seconds remaining in regulation, Jelani Adorno scored the game winner for the Bantams, putting the second puck of the night behind Halloran.

The Cardinals penalty kill units cleared two power plays by the Bantams. Isabelle Allieri '25 led all Cardinals with five shots on goal. Amelia Molin '27 won five draws from the faceoff circle.

In goal, Halloran finished the evening with 35 saves. Leclaire made 21 saves for the Bantams at the other end of the ice.
