Cardinals Secure Fifth Little Three Title in 7-2 Victory over Ephs

MIDDLETOWN, CT. – The No. 5 Wesleyan women's tennis team secured their fifth-consecutive Little Three Championship title on Saturday afternoon as they toppled No. 6 Williams College in a 7-2 match victory from Wesleyan's John Wood Memorial Courts and Bacon Field House.

As the Cardinals celebrated the 2023 NESCAC title team on Saturday, the women's team took to the court and cleared the Ephs in their 11th straight win as they remain undefeated atop the NESCAC.

The Cardinals swept the Ephs in doubles play to kickstart the afternoon matchup, Lane Durkin '27 and Renna Mohsen-Breen '25 were the first to finish, defeating Margaux Molyneux and Jane Ladaga in a 8-3 final score. Durkin and Mohsen-Breen are 11-0 as the No. 3 doubles pairing for the Cardinals.

Caitlyn Ferrante '24 and Sarah Youngberg '26 made easy work of Yuu Ishikawa and Annabelle Siegel, picking up the 8-5 victory as the No. 1 doubles pairing. The final doubles point went to Leila Epstein '26 and Jackie Soloveychik '27, beating Mia Thomann and Ahn Lin, 8-6.

Soloveychik at No. 4 won the first singles matchup of the afternoon for the Cardinals as she put away Ladaga with a 6-0, 6-4 final score. Durkin at No. 5 defeated Ananya Aggarwal 7-5, 6-0. Epstein put up a final 6-0, 6-4 score on Thomann for a win in the No. 3 position. And Mohsen-Breen came away with the final point of the match, downing Molyneux with a 7-6 (3-0), 6-4 match win.

Durkin, Soloveychik, and Mohsen-Breen continue with perfect performances in singles play.

The Cardinals return to action on Sunday, April 14, when they host No. 12 Middlebury at the John Wood Memorial Courts beginning at 2 p.m.
