HARTFORD, CT. – The Wesleyan men's track and field team had a solid showing on Saturday as they competed against 14 other schools for eighth place at the Trinity Invitational, cleaning up with 14 Top 10 placements.
Taking third in the 1500m,
Liam Calhoun '26 crossed the finish line at 3:58.35, leading a pack of seven Cardinals through the race, all finishing in the Top 15.
Rob D'Aquila '26 placed sixth (3:59.53, personal best).
Bruce Lenes '26 was eighth (4:03.77). Zach Allan '27 placed 10
th (4:04.36, personal best).
Alex Kermath '26 took 11
th (4:04.82).
Aidan Ward '24 finished just one spot behind in 12
th (4:05.71).
Alex Lara '27 closed out at 14
th (4:10.70, personal best).
Nate Fogarty '25 also claimed a third-place finish in the 800m, running a personal-best time of 1:55.73.
Alex Geula '25 was ninth (1:58.08, personal best).
Ben Taffet '26 took 11
th (1:58.59, personal best). And
Luke Consolati '25 finished in 12
th (1:59.68).
Sam Musto '24 opened the day with a 15
th place finish in the 200m at 23.04 before placing sixth in the 400m at 50.08.
Josh Ng '27 led the way in the long jump, closing in on sixth place with a distance of 6.12m.
Jerry Gong '27 was ninth with 6.06m.
In the triple jump, Ng placed ninth with a personal-best distance of 12.04m.
Daniel Bench '27 was 10
th at 11.80m.
At shot put,
Javier Orellana '25 placed fourth with a total distance of 14.28m.
Will Dollhopf '25 threw for a personal best 37.10m in the discus throw while
Eli Liedtka '27 finished in 15
th at 35.55m.
Liedtka then took sixth place in the javelin throw with a personal best 44.29m.
The Cardinals will spend the week preparing for the NESCAC Championships on Saturday, April 27.
