CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Wesleyan men's crew team opened the fall schedule with its annual appearance in the Head of the Charles in Boston. Racing against a host of collegiate teams across all Divisions, the Cardinals' varsity 8 took third place out of 42 crews on Sunday afternoon racing in the Men's Collegiate Eights event.
The Cardinals finished behind only Holy Cross, who competes at the Div. I level, and Tufts while Wesleyan finished ahead of Trinity, Temple, Williams, and many others. Wesleyan clocked in at 3:16.873 at the first checkpoint and was seventh-fastest to the midway point of the race. Wesleyan began to make up ground in the third split, moving up to fourth place, and finished strong with a 2:33.069 split to clock in at 14:39.957 on the three-mile course.
