MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Senior defensive back
Dylan Connors '26 of the Wesleyan football team was named the NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Connors' third career Player of the Week honor and first-ever on Special Teams.
Connors' blocked punt and return for a touchdown midway through the third quarter gave the Cardinals a 10-point lead in an eventual 31-21 win over Amherst on Homecoming weekend. Connors broke through the line and blocked the Mammoths' attempt, scooped up the loose ball at the 11-yard line and returned it for a touchdown. The senior's contributions helped lead the Cardinal defense which shutout Amherst in the second half and forced four turnovers and two turnovers on downs in the win.
Wesleyan (5-2) is back in action with its final away game of the year, traveling to face Williams on Saturday at 1 PM.
