Women’s Soccer Sees Five Earn All-NESCAC Honors

MIDDLETOWN, CT. -  Following a seventh-straight appearance in the NESCAC Championship with a 4-3-3 conference campaign and 9-4-3 overall record, the Wesleyan University women's soccer team picked up five All-NESCAC selections as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Wesleyan earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will make a fifth-straight appearance.

Molly Brumbach '26 | First Team | Goalkeeper
Molly Brumbach
Now a three-time All-NESCAC honoree, Brumbach earns her second-straight First Team selection as the starting goalkeeper for the Cardinals. The 2024 Defensive Player of the Year was a Second Team selection in 2023. Brumbach, now one of the most decorated players in program history, joins Grace Devenney '23 and Laura Kurash '13 as the only Cardinals with three or more all-conference awards. Brumbach's two First Team awards are second only to Kurash with three First Team awards.

Through 15 games played as the starting goalkeeper, Brumbach has recorded an 8-4-3 overall record. Holding a .890 save percentage, Brumbach has made 65 saves and only eight goals against on 134 shots faced. With eight shutouts this season, Brumbach's record includes two scoreless draws with Tufts and Bates. Facing the Jumbos in the NESCAC quarterfinal, Brumbach posted a season-high nine saves with two goals against.

Notably one of the best goalkeepers in the NESCAC, Brumbach ranks second in shutouts, second in saves per game (4.33 average), third in saves, and fourth in goals against average (.578). She was named Player of the Week following the 1-0 win over Colby, recording eight saves as the Cardinals were outshot.

Maria Utz '27 | First Team | Forward
Maria Utz
A two-time All-NESCAC selection as a junior, Utz earns her first, First Team selection after earning a Second Team honor in 2024. One of the most dominant attacking players in the NESCAC, through 16 starts, Utz has amassed 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points. Utz's 10 goals are the most by a Cardinal since Devenney in 2021.

Quick on her feet and dangerous in the low corners, Utz leads the NESCAC in game-winning goals, putting away victories for the Cardinals over JWU, WPI, Springfield, Amherst, and RIC. Highlighting a 3-0 win over WPI in September, Utz posted a hat trick. Utz put away another six-point game over RIC, making contact on all four goals as she scored two and assisted on two more.

Within the NESCAC, Utz ranks first in game winners, first in points (1.75 average), first in shots on goal (2.19 average), second in shots (4.38 average), and third in goals.

 Tori Rideau-Winds '26 | Second Team | Defense
Tori Rideau-Winds
Earning Second Team honors, Rideau-Winds is a two-time All-NESCAC selection, previously earning First Team honors in 2024. Returning to the lineup in September after a season-ending injury in 2024, Rideau-Winds was named to the starting lineup and headlined the Cardinals' back line through the opening six games of the season.

Through those six games, the Cardinals were undefeated with a 4-0-2 record. The defense allowed just one goal during that stretch and only 12 shots on goal.

Sheridan Snow '28 | Second Team | Defense
Sheridan Snow
Earning her first All-Conference team selection, the 2024 NESCAC Rookie of the Year earns Second Team honors as a sophomore. Snow was a 16-game starter for the Cardinals and logged the most minutes of any player on the field, including Brumbach, with just over 1,300 minutes.

Marking two goals on 11 total shots, Snow was pivotal to the Cardinals defense this season, leading the charge in the absence of Rideau-Winds. This season, the Cardinals' defense allowed only nine total goals against and averaged 10.9 shots per game.

Riley Buehler '26 | Second Team | Midfield
Riley Buehler
One of the best talents to emerge out of the conference this season, Buehler earns her first career All-NESCAC honors as a Second Team honoree. A cornerstone starter from the midfield for the Cardinals in her senior season, Buehler played in all 16 games and ranks second on the team in scoring with seven goals and one assist for 15 points.

Totaling two game-winning goals this season against Trinity and Conn., Buehler fueled the Cardinals' offensive edge and recorded three, four-point games. Matches against Springfield, Trinity, and Conn., saw Buehler find the back of the net twice. Buehler is playing the best season of her career as she has helped the Cardinals to the NCAA Tournament.

Amongst her NESCAC peers, Buehler ranks seventh in goals and 10th in points.

The Cardinals will face NYU in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.
