MIDDLETOWN, CT. - For the second-straight year, the Wesleyan women's soccer team claims four All-Region I honors as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2, as

Maria Utz '27,
Riley Buehler '26, and
Waverly Meyers '26 highlighted the selections following a NCAA Tournament Second Round appearance for the second year in a row.

Molly Brumbach earns her second, First Team honors as she is joined by
Maria Utz as the second First Team selection of the 2025 season.
Riley Buehler earns Second Team honors for the first time while
Waverly Meyers is a first-time selection for the Third Team.
Running a 9-5-4 campaign through the season, the Cardinals finished NESCAC play with a 4-3-3 record, reaching the NESCAC quarterfinals. Earning an at-large bid, the Cardinals made a fifth-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, defeating NYU in the opening round in penalty kicks, finishing the endeavor 1-1 before completing the shootout with a 4-3 finish. Facing Tufts for the third time this season, the Cardinals fell in the Second Round 2-0.
Molly Brumbach | Goalkeeper

A three-time NESCAC honoree, Brumbach is now a two-time All-Region First Team selection as the top goalkeeper in Region I. Brumbach previously earned the honor in 2024, becoming the second goalkeeper to earn All-Region for the Cardinals and the first to earn a First Team selection. Brumbach finished the season with an 8-5-4 overall record, tallying eight shutouts that included a scoreless draw with Tufts in the regular season.
Allowing just 11 goals against, Brumbach returned 80 saves, a career record, recording a .879 save percentage on 181 shots faced. The senior posted two nine-save games this season against Williams and Tufts, and faced a season-high 27 saves against Tufts in the NCAA Tournament.
One of the best goalkeepers in the NESCAC, Brumbach finished the season ranked Top 5 in all categories including second in shutouts (8), second in saves per game (4.71), fourth in goals against (.68), and fourth in saves (.879).
Maria Utz | Forward

Earning her first career All-Region selection as a member of the First Team, the two-time All-Conference honoree finished the season as the leading scorer for the Cardinals. One of the most dominant players in the NESCAC, through 16 starts, Utz tallied 10 goals and nine assists for 29 points. Utz's 10 goals are the most by a Cardinal since Grace Devenney in 2021.
Securing victories for the Cardinals over JWU, WPI, Springfield, Amherst, and RIC, Utz recorded a hat trick against WPI and put away another six-point game over RIC, making contact on all four goals as she scored two and assisted on two more.
Utz held court within the NESCAC, leading in game-winning goals (5), points (29), second in assists (9), second in shots per game (4.22), second in shots on goal (2.06) and fourth in goals (10).
Riley Buehler | Midfield

Emerging as one of the top talents in the NESCAC this season, Buehler earns her first All-Region honors as a Second Team selection after earning her first All-NESCAC honors this season. Buehler finished second on the team in scoring, putting away eight goals and one assist for 17 points.
Recording three, four-point games, Buehler was a crucial asset to the Cardinals offense this season, scoring game-winning goals against Trinity and Conn. Facing NYU in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, Buehler scored the game-tying goal to send the match to overtime and eventually a penalty kick shootout. Buehler found the back of the net as the third Cardinal to take a kick, helping advance the Cardinals to the Second Round.
Among NESCAC peers, Buehler finished sixth in goals (8), and ninth in points (17).
Waverly Meyers | Midfield

A first-time All-Region honoree, Meyers earned selection to the Third Team following 17 starts in 18 games played. Meyers finished the season with three goals and two assists for eight points.
Logging over 1200 minutes, Meyers played a significant role at the midfield, helping the defense to hold all opponents to an average of 12 shots per game as team allowed 12 total goals. Meyers recorded goals against WestConn, Hamilton, and Middlebury.
