Men’s Track & Field Top Five at Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, MA. – Facing their highest finish since 2022, the Wesleyan men's track and field team put on a show at the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday, hosted by Tufts University, closing out the meet in fourth place out of a field of 16 teams while led by Ethan Singleton '28 with two first-place finishes.

Racking up 14 Top 10 finishes, the Cardinals earned their highest placement at the meet since 2022. The 2021-22 team placed third.

Singleton can rarely be stopped in his tracks and Tufts was no different. The freshman opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200m, running a 22.30, just over a second from the program's outdoor record of 21.73. Singleton followed up his 200m victory with another top finish in the 400m, winning the event as he crossed the line at 49.62. The record is 49.22.

Placing in the Top 10 with Singleton in both events was Patrick Schechtman-Taylor '26. Schechtman-Taylor placed eighth in the 200m with a time of 23.52. He then placed seventh in the 400m with a 52.45.

Several pairings earned top times as the races reached a longer distance throughout the day. In the 800m, George Lepska '25 placed fifth, running a final time of 2:00 flat. Ben Taffet '26 took 10th place, closing a 2:02.29.

Rob D'Aquila '26 also took fifth place in the men's 1500, timing his race at 4:06.42. In seventh, Dylan Cote '28 ran a 4:08.97.

The Cardinals earned another top placement in the discus throw, Eli Liedtka '27 taking second after reaching a distance of 39.61m. Elias Warner '28 fell in at fourth, throwing for 39.10m.

Another showing in the hammer throw saw three Cardinals place Top 10. Will Dollhopf '25 took fourth, finishing at 44.00m. Warner placed fifth at 40.81m while Ethan Dangle placed seventh at a distance of 40.48m.

Placing ninth in the javelin, Rami Hayes-Messinger '26 threw for 43.87m.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 9, for the Amherst Spring Fling meet.
