HARTFORD, CT. - Taking five of the Top 10 finishes in the women's 1500m, the Wesleyan women's track and field team found themselves the majority while placing 10
th out of 13 schools at the Trinity Invitational, hosted by Trinity College, on Saturday afternoon as the team finished with 15 Top 10 placements overall.
Leading the way through the mid-distance event, Margaret Steven's '27 placed third with a final time of 4:47.64 when she crossed the finish line. In fifth place,
Virginia Lessner '28 clocked in at 4:50.64. Taking seventh,
Alexandra Simon '26 ran a 4:52.73. On Simon's heels,
Alexandra Weingard '28 placed eighth, running a 4:52.91. In 10
th,
Genevieve Minard '28 finished at 4:54.16.
Juliette Sullivan '27 opened the meet with finishes in the 100m and 200m sprints. Placing sixth in the 100m, Sullivan crossed at 12.46 before running a 25.30 for fourth place in the 200m.
Jordan Walter '25 earned a third-place finish in the 800m as she went for a 2:17.28. In eighth place,
Elanora Smith '27 closed with a 2:20.62.
The 400m hurdles went to
Imagen Walters '26 with a fourth-place final. Walters ran a final 1:07.98. Walters' hurdles partner
Eva Beauchamp '28 finished 10
th, crossing at 1:11.10.
Topping the Cardinals' showing in the field events,
Fiona Carroll '25 was top placement in the pole vault, finishing third overall at 3.10m.
Kate DiTullio '28 placed seventh in the triple jump, going for 10.14m. Throwing for 10.48m in the shot put,
Naomi McGadney '27 placed ninth. DiTullio earned a second top placement in the javelin throw, earning 10
th with a final 28.47m.
The Cardinals are preparing to host the NESCAC Championships on Saturday, April 26, with action beginning at 9 a.m.
