Six Cardinals Earn NEILA All-New England Honors

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Six members of the Wesleyan men's lacrosse team picked up All-New England honors, as recognized by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) on Friday morning. Headlining the list are a pair of First Team All-New England selections in CK Giancola '24, G'25 and Jack Raba '23, G'25. This signals a second straight First Team selection for Giancola and Raba while Ben Burns '26 and James Bailey '26 earn Honorable Mention honors for the second straight year. Emmett Schillinger '25 and Charlie Wilmot '26 are Honorable Mention All-New England for the first time in their respective careers.

Giancola finished up his career with another sensational season, totaling 55 goals and 13 assists for 68 points in 18 games played. He scored at least twice in 14-of-18 games and tallied a career-high nine points (six goals, three assists) in a home win over Williams back in March. Giancola closed out his Wesleyan career with 233 career points, fifth-most in team history, while he was recently invited to try out in the Professional Lacrosse League (PLL) training camp with the Maryland Whipsnakes, hoping to become the second Cardinal to make a PLL roster (Ronan Jacoby '21).

Raba was the engine behind a dynamic Wesleyan attack, leading the team in assists and points for the third straight year. He registered career-highs across the board in goals (24), assists (62), and points (86) while ranking sixth nationally in assists per game (3.26). Raba closed out his career with the second-most assists in team history (157) while his 218 career points ranks sixth all-time at Wesleyan.

Burns continued his elite goal-scoring ways in 2025, reaching 100 career goals just 45 games into his career. Through 53 career appearances, Burns has 115 goals including 22 on the man-up. In the 2025 campaign, Burns totaled 45 goals and eight assists for 53 points in 19 games. He scored at least once in 18-of-19 games and had seven hat tricks including his first career six-goal game.

Bailey produced 49 points on a career-high 22 goals with 27 assists, adding 22 ground balls to his totals in 19 games this season at midfield. He produced four hat tricks for the season and had six games with 2+ assists, putting him at the 100-career point mark in the regular season finale at Conn. College.

Schillinger totaled 51 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers in 19 starts, ranking second on the team in both categories while anchoring the Wesleyan defense all throughout the past two seasons. He had several monster games including eight ground balls and three caused turnovers against Trinity, two ground balls and four caused turnovers against RPI, and six ground balls and four caused turnovers against Colby.

Wilmot provided strong play all over the field, playing a role on faceoffs as a wing, the leader of the short stick defensive midfield unit, a key piece in transition, and he more than doubled his previous single-season career-high point total. Wilmot totaled 33 ground balls and five caused turnovers with just five turnovers to go along with two goals and seven assists for nine points. He has played all 53 possible games since his freshman season in 2023.
