NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Wesleyan women's lacrosse team hauled in four All-American selections for the second straight season, as announced on Friday afternoon by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). The four All-Americans matches a team record, first set in 2019 and matched again in 2024, and is headlined by a pair of First Team selections. Making the First Team for the second straight year is midfielder Kiara Tangney '25, who becomes just the third Cardinal in team history to earn multiple First Team All-American selections. Joining her on the First Team is goalkeeper Izzy Weintraub '26, who makes the First Team for the first time after being named a Second Team All-American last season. Then a pair of first-time All-Americans made the list in Sam DeLeo '25 (Second Team) and Maeve Olson '25 (Third Team).

Joining a list that includes five midfielders on the First Team All-American selections, Tangney closed out her career as an elite two-way player for Wesleyan, totaling 35 goals and six assists for 41 points to go along with 21 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers, and 38 draw controls in 19 games played this season. Tangney tied for the team-lead in goals and ranked second in draw controls, while finishing her career with 103 points in 75 games. Her play really picked up over the second half of the season when she registered a hat trick in seven of the final 12 games of the campaign including a streak of four straight in early April.

Weintraub elevates to First Team All-American in her junior year, in just her second year as the full-time starter for the Cardinals. A Second Team pick in 2024, Weintraub is joined by just one other goalkeeper on the First Team All-American list. She finished the year with a 7.40 goals against average and .507 save percentage while starting all 21 games and playing over 1,110 minutes in cage. Weintraub established career-highs in every statistical category and produced 12 games with a save percentage of .500 or better while totaling 10+ saves five times in 2025.

DeLeo improved dramatically over her four-year career, seeing very limited playing time over her first two seasons before posting 33 points in her junior year and finally a breakout senior year where she led the team in assists (29) and points (59) while putting up 30 goals and 34 ground balls in 21 games (all starts). This was DeLeo's first year as a starter on attack and she totaled at least one point in 20-of-21 games this season. She produced a career-high seven points (three goals, four assists) in the Cardinals' 15-9 NCAA Second Round win over Babson.
