PENNSAUKEN TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Wesleyan men's crew team accumulated 37.5 points on Saturday to take fifth place out of eight teams competing at the 2025 IRA Division III National Championship. The varsity 8 boat took fifth place while the 2
nd varsity 8 placed fourth in their respective grand finals. Tufts won the points trophy with 51 while Trinity's top boat won the V8 race.
The 2V8 grand final was the first contested race of the afternoon in what was a much later start than previously expected, as inclement weather in the area moved the start times back several hours into the afternoon. Wesleyan's 2V8 held steady at fourth place throughout the 2000m race, with Colby staving off a late push from the Cardinals as the Mules clocked in at 6:00.270 compared to 6:00.710 from the Cardinals.
The V8 grand final saw Wesleyan come out strong, sitting in third place after the opening 500m, but the Cardinals lost ground over the next 1000m and ended up in fifth place with a time of 5:50.870.
With just three seniors in the two boats combined, Wesleyan figures to be strong national contenders once again in the 2025-26 season.
