MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Marking a massive morning at the Wes Fuhrman '05 Trails Cross Country Course for the Wesleyan men's cross country team, sophomore
Dylan Cote took first place out of a field of 155 runners as Wesleyan placed first out of 11 schools competing at the annual Cardinal
Invitational.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Cardinals finished the race with a final tally of 44 points. MIT took second with another 44 points while Amherst closed the Top 3 with 66 points.
- Cote's performance was a personal best time in the men's 8K. Crossing the finish line at 24:37.8, Cote cleared the field and earned his first victory as a Cardinal.
- Placing second on the heels of Cote was Liam Calhoun '26. Calhoun topped his previous 8K time and clocked in at 24:42.5.
- Noah Mahoney '27 joined Cote and Calhoun in the Top 5, placing fourth as he finished with a final time of 24:45.2.
- Rounding out the Top 20, Alex Kermath '26 placed 18th at 25:17.0 and Zach Allen '27 finished 19th with a 25:18.1,
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, Oct. 3, when they compete in the Paul Short Invitational beginning at 4 p.m.
