Zach Wolinski Named NESCAC Player of the Week

Sophomore guard earns his first career POW honor

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Wesleyan men's basketball sophomore guard Zach Wolinski '28 earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday morning. This is the first career POW honor for Wolinski. 

Wolinski posted a pair of 20+ point games to lead the Cardinals to a pair of double-digit road wins to kick off NESCAC play this past weekend. Wolinski netted a career-high 26 points on 9-for-15 shooting and 3-of-6 from three to go along with five rebounds and two assists as the Cardinals led 40-15 at halftime against Williams before going on to win 84-71 in Williamstown. The sophomore guard followed with a 22-point effort at Middlebury on 7-for-15 shooting, scoring 18 in the first half alone, as the Cardinals led by as many as 25 points in the first half before finishing off a convincing 86-62 win over the Panthers in Vermont.

The Cardinals are back at home for three games in Silloway Gym this week, starting on Monday night with a 7 PM tip against Yeshiva.
