MIDDLETOWN, CT. - Following 65 scoreless minutes on Saturday afternoon, the Wesleyan women's hockey team went shot for shot with Hamilton College in a 0-0 tie shootout that saw
Amelia Molin '27 end the game as the fourth skater to take home 1.5 points in the NESCAC standings at Spurrier-Snyder Arena.
Marking 47 saves in goal,
Jenna Guglielmi '27 topped her season save margin for the season serving as the starting goaltender against the Continentals (7-5-2 overall, 3-3-2 NESCAC). Guglielmi was put to task as neither team managed to generate a goal. Rebounding from Friday night's overtime loss, the Cardinals (2-11-2 overall, 0-7-1 NESCAC)matched the Continentals in opening offensive opportunities with an 11-11differential.
The Continentals tipped the second period to a 17-11 chase, forcing the Cardinals to their toes as they sifted through the second period. Led by
Dylan Green '26 with nine total shots on goal, the Cardinals fought back with 10 attempts to the Continentals' 11 shots in the third period but could not build on two power-play opportunities.
Without a score at the end of 60 minutes, both teams entered overtime with agency but fell to a shootout. Guglielmi and Teagan Brown stopped the first three skaters from each team, Brown denying
Sam Galanek '26,
Parker Caldara '29, and Green. Molin returned a goal on Brown with the final shot.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, when they travel to Amherst for a 3 p.m. puck drop.
