MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's swimming & diving team played host to Colby on Saturday afternoon in a dual meet in the Webster Family Natatorium. The Cardinals fell by a score of 178-76 against the Mules.
Jeremiah Tomioka '29 led the way for Wesleyan with a pair of first place finishes in two distance events. Tomioka opened with a time of 1:02.16 in the 1000 free to take the win by more than 22 seconds. He followed that up with a first place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:52.95 that bested the runner-up finisher by just under two seconds.
Tomas Gonzalez '27 came through with the third event win of the day for the Cardinals, placing first with a season-best time of 52.16 seconds in the 100 fly.
Other top point producers on the day for the Cardinals included
Ben White '29 who placed Top 3 in the 200 free (1:50.90), 200 back (1:59.92), and 200 IM (2:03.68) while
Evan Byun '29 was 2
nd in the 200 breast (2:16.82) and 3
rd in the 100 breast (1:01.46).
The Cardinals host their final meet of the season next Saturday against Conn. College at 1 PM.
