MEDFORD, MA. - Featuring at the Tufts Quad Meet on Saturday afternoon, the Wesleyan men's track and field team saw 17 Top 10 finishes as the men dominated the 800m race with Ben McKinny placing third overall.
RESULTS
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Ben McKinney '27 led all Cardinals in the men's 800m with a final 2:03.12 for third place, but four additional Cardinals followed in his wake. Hyatt Hicks '28 placed fourth (2:03.86), Emmett Leachman '29 finished fifth (2:07.80), Callum Madigan '29 took sixth (2:09.74), and Cullen McCleary '29 placed seventh (2:09.76).
- Placing fourth in the 3,000m, Alex Kermath '26 finished fourth with a final 8:26.33. Liam Calhoun '26 finished fifth (8.26.66) while Dylan Cote '28 closed in 10th place (8:40.83).
- Reece Connors '29 finished with a 23.14 in the 200m dash for ninth place, followed by Auren Director '29 in 10th place with a final 23.15.
- Dan Irish '29 placed eight in the 1,000m, clocking a 2:25.10 while Ben Taffett '26 placed ninth with a time of 2:35.99.
- Connors placed a second time in the 400m, running a 51.31 for eighth place. Sixth place in the 600m went to August Doetsch '29 with a final 1:23.54. McKinney ran the mile later in the afternoon, placing eighth at 4:27.96.
- Fifth place in the 4x400m relay, Doetsch, Irish, Daniel Manning '28, and Knox Wallask '29 combined for 3:35.91.
- Leading all Cardinals in the field events, Rami Hayes-Messinger '26 placed fifth in both the shot put and the weight throw. Hayes-Messinger threw for 13.47m in the shot put before finishing with 14.98m in the weight throw.
The Cardinals will compete in the Boston University Valentine Invitational beginning Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m.
