MIDDLETOWN, CT. – After pitching a complete shutout win over the weekend, sophomore pitcher Shamus Kelly was named NESCAC Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning, for the first time in his career.
Marking the first conference Pitcher of the Week nomination for the Cardinals since 2023, Kelly's recognition follows a stellar performance in game one of the double header with Penn State Abington.
Kelly tossed the complete 4-0 win, snapping the Nittany Lions' nine-game win streak. It was Kelly's first career complete game, first career shutout, and first career win as the sophomore allowed six hits and no walks with five strikeouts.
The Cardinals continue their spring break trip as they make their way up the East Coast with the next outing on Tuesday, March 17, against Ithaca in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
