No. 2 Women’s Lacrosse Nets Season-High 18 Goals in Dominant Win over Endicott

11 different Cardinals score; Wesleyan is 5-0 for the first time since 2023

BEVERLY, Mass. – Eight unanswered goals from the opening draw, 11 different goal scorers, and a season-high 18 goals scored by the No. 2 Wesleyan women's lacrosse team proved more than enough in a convincing 18-7 win over Endicott on Tuesday afternoon. Wesleyan (5-0) matches it's best start to a season in program history while the Gulls (4-1) suffer their first defeat of 2026.

The Cardinals put this one away early, outscoring the Gulls 7-0 in the first quarter while outshooting Endicott 11-2. Dylan Green '26 scored the opener four minutes into play then scored again less than three minutes later to start a string of five straight Wesleyan possessions that resulted in a goal. Lindsey Diomede '26 found the back of the net before Green completed her hat trick on a free position goal.

Becca Dibble '26 made it 5-0 Cardinals and Kyra Browne '26 finished the string of five straight possessions ending in Cardinal goals. Dibble netted her second of the quarter to cap the scoring at 7-0 in favor of Wesleyan who gave Endicott all sorts of trouble, with the Gulls committed three times as many turnovers (six) as shots produced (two) in the opening period.

After another Endicott turnover to start the second quarter, Maddie Shoemaker '27 got involved in the scoring off a feed from Green. Wesleyan dominated the draw controls (6-1) in the second quarter and outscored the Gulls 5-3 in the frame to push their advantage up to 12-3 at halftime. Bridget Horst '26 and Mya Waryas '27 both scored their first of the day while Shoemaker and Browne netted their second goals of the first half. Waryas' goal came with just one second left on the clock.

Wesleyan held their first double-digit lead as Shoemaker completed her hat trick on a player-up goal 1:Ed23 into the second half. Still with a player advantage on the field, Lilly Stoller '26 made some history as she scored an unassisted goal, becoming the first Wesleyan defender to score in a game since Meghan Manley '20 scored against Babson back on March 20, 2018.

That Stoller goal made it 14-3 Cardinals and another 3-0 Wesleyan run between the third and fourth quarters kept the game in running time for the remainder of play. Piper Dionne '28 scored on a free position in the third quarter while Sami Smith '27 scored her first of the season and Dionne scored again in the fourth. The Gulls scored three unanswered but it was too little too late as Sarah Polumbo '27 finished off the scoring with her first of the season.

Green scored three and added an assist for a four-point game, tied with Browne (two goals, two assists) for the team-lead. Shoemaker scored three to give her a team-leading 13 goals on the season. Dionne and Dibble both scored twice while Diomede had one goal and one assist.

Cannon Martin '29 had a season-high seven draw controls while Horst added four. Izzy Weintraub '26 earned the win in net while April Rowe '27 and Maggie Keller '28 both saw action in the second half.

Wesleyan heads back out on the road on Saturday for a Noon start at Bowdoin.
