AMHERST, MA. – Led by a first-place victory for
Noah Mahoney in the 5000m, the Wesleyan men's track and field team put on a solid performance on Saturday at the UMass Flagship Opener, finishing with 10 Top 5 placements.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Leading the way, Noah Mahoney '27 claimed first place in the men's 5000m, crossing the finish line with a final time of 14.56.83.
- Placing second in the 100m, Auren Director '29 ran an 11.27 with Dylan Wang '29 placing third at 11.69. Logan Vargas '29 placed fourth at 11.75.
- Director went on to place fifth in the 200m with a final time of 23.16.
- Knox Wallask '29 placed fourth in the 800m, running a 2:00.87. Ben Taffet '26 closed the Top 5 with a time of 2:01.45.
- Wallask ran the 1500m, earning another fourth-place finish with a final 4:06.45.
- In the 400m hurdles, Reese Connors '29 crossed the line at 58.82, placing fifth.
- From the field, Eli Liedtka '28 placed fifth in the discus throw, finishing at 42.97m.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 4, when they take on the Amherst Spring Fling invite.
