WATERVILLE, ME. - The Wesleyan men's tennis team pulled out a second consecutive win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Colby College 6-1 in NESCAC action while improving to 5-6 on the season and 3-2 within the conference.
The Cardinals clinched the doubles point to open the match, staking win at No. 2 and No. 3.
Max Litton '26 and
Brett Keeling '27 defeated Sean Wang and Antonio Lee as the No. 2 pair in a 6-4 victory. Following at No. 3,
Chase Burke '29 and
Tommy Jani '29 put away a 6-4 win over Bilal Asim and Diego Sosa.
Ryuto Saito '29 opened singles as the lineup anchor at No. 1, running a tiebreak after Jason Daly tied the match up at one. Saito swept set three and cleared the 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 win. Keeling fought a tough fight against Rhys Spano at No. 2, turning a 7-5, 7-5 match win for the Cardinals.
Slotted at No. 3, Burke dropped just five points to Sosa, defeating Sosa 6-1, 6-4. Another third set tiebreak went to
Tai MacDonald '26 at No. 4, facing Asim. Asim won set two, tying the match but it was MacDonald that also swept set three in a 6-3, 2-6, 6-0 finish.
The Cardinals return to action on Sunday, April 12, when they face No. 6 Bowdoin on the road at 2 p.m.
