MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Wesleyan softball junior pitcher
Ella DeCrescenzo '27 was named the NESCAC Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is DeCrescenzo's first career weekly honor.
DeCrescenzo strung together back-to-back complete game efforts, allowing no earned runs in 14 innings of work to earn a pair of wins over Colby and Williams. The junior opened the weekend going the distance in a complete game with no walks, three strikeouts, and one unearned run allowed as the Cardinals defeated the Mules 5-1 to clinch a sweep of Colby on Saturday. DeCrescenzo followed up with her first career shutout, requiring just 83 pitches in seven innings of work, allowing eight hits and just one walk with one strikeout as Wesleyan defeated Williams 2-0 to earn a Sunday split on the road.
Wesleyan heads into the final week of the regular season and are set for road doubleheaders at WestConn on Thursday and Middlebury on Saturday.
