MIDDLETOWN, CT. – As announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning, the Wesleyan University baseball team picks up two All-NESCAC selections as
James Marsden is named a First Team honoree and
Jake Acker a Second Team honoree following a 13-23 season as Little Three Champions.
James Marsden '26 | Utility – Outfield/LHP | First Team

Marking one of the best seasons of his career, senior
James Marsden earns his first All-NESCAC honors as a Cardinal as a First Team selection. Serving as utility player for the Cardinals, Marsden saw action at the plate, the mound and in the outfield at center field. Earning a starting lineup role in all 36 games played this season, Marsden led all Cardinals with 44 hits, 22 runs, 16 doubles, second in the NESCAC, two triples, four home runs, and 26 RBI.
Following a three-hit road game against Ithaca College over Spring Break, Marsden joined the 100 Hits Club as the 58
th Cardinal to reach the milestone and finishes his career with 135 hits. Marsden also totaled a .326 batting average, a .536 slugging percentage, ranked 10
th in the NESCAC, and a .392 on base average.
Marsden also made nine appearances on the mound for the Cardinals, running a 1-3 record through 17 innings pitched. Marsden struck out 18 batters.
Jake Acker '27 | Catcher | Second Team
Jake Acker earns Second Team honors for the second time in his career, previously named a Second Team selection in 2025. In 30 games played, 28 of which were in the starting lineup, Acker led all Cardinals with 27 runs. Acker accumulated 31 hits, five doubles, three home runs, and batted in 18 runners in 92 at bats. Through 30 games, Acker held a .337 batting average and a .479 slugging percentage with a .479 on base average, ranked 10
th in the NESCAC.
Behind the plate as the starting catcher for the Cardinals, Acker held a .972 fielding percentage with 193 put outs, ranked sixth in the NESCAC, and 17 assists.
