MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's swimming and diving team closed out the fall semester with its final meet of the calendar year. Competing against two of the nation's top programs, Wesleyan was defeated by No. 13 Tufts 269-49 and No. 12 Williams 263-51.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Mason Polaner '24 put together an impressive showing in the 200 free, placing seventh out of 17 with a time of 1:45.24as he bested four swimmers from Williams
- Harrison Hong '25 landed a Top 10 finish in the 50 fly, finishing in 10th with a time of 23.20 seconds and ahead of 10 competitors from Williams and Tufts
- Hong also led the Cardinal contingent in the 50 free, touching the call in 22.40 seconds to place 11th of 23
- Erin Tran '23 was eighth-best in the 400 IM, finishing ahead of four combined swimmers from the Ephs and Jumbos as he touched in 4:15.32
- Tran also showed well in the 200 fly, posting a time of 1:55.01 to take seventh place out of 20 competitors. Hong placed 10th in the same event with a time of 1:57.341
- Jake Rybczyk '24 placed fourth in the 3-meter dive, recording a 201.05 score
- In the 200 free relay, Wesleyan's top team of Hong, Polaner, David Kantar '25 and Richard Ettinger '23 placed ninth out of 19 teams with a time of 1:28.98
- Kantar was Wesleyan's top-finisher in the 100 fly at 55.16 seconds
- Jeremy Kim '23 posted the fastest 50 breast time on the team at 28.74 seconds
