MEDFORD, Mass. – Wesleyan's contingent in the throwing competitions spearheaded a third place finish for men's track and field on Saturday afternoon at the Tufts Quad Meet #2. The host Jumbos won with 215 points while Trinity (106 points) finished second, Connecticut College (77) was fourth and Middlebury (46) finished fifth.
NOTES
- Connell Oberman '22 was tops on the day for Wesleyan as he placed runner-up in both the hammer throw and discus events. Oberman threw a personal-best 36.39m in the hammer while he posted 37.83m in the discus, just 0.02m off his personal-best
- James Giokaris '24 recorded his second straight victory in the javelin as he tossed 43.05m to best a field of five competitors
- Christian Dneny '22 picked up a pair of top three results as he posted 11.12 seconds in the 100m to finish runner-up while his time of 23.15 seconds was good enough for third in the 200m
- Kyron Roberts '21 posted third place out of 13 sprinters in the 400m as he crossed the line in 51.40 seconds
- Miles Aronow '22 was fourth-best in the 1500m with a personal-best time of 4:08.85
- Mason Martell '24 posted a personal-best time of 15.69 seconds to earn a second place finish in the 110m hurdles

The final meet of the 2021 spring season is next Saturday as the Cardinals head to Williamstown for the Little Three Championship starting at Noon.
