CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Racing against 35 other boats in one of the largest regattas in the country, the Wesleyan women's crew team placed 11
th in the collegiate eights race on Sunday from the Charles River in Boston.
The Cardinals' varsity 8 boat consisted of coxswain
Ava Olson '25,
Alex Kuo '26,
Nora Printy '26,
Elizabeth Rowe '23,
Meg Alberding '23,
Anne Horton '24,
Alex Stanislaw '25,
Shayna McCarthy '24 and
Shelagh Coombs '24. The Cardinals came out with a strong start, sitting 11
th at the riverside checkpoint with a time of 3:55. After falling back two places at the weld checkpoint, the Cardinals moved up one spot at the CBC checkpoint before passing another boat to finish in 11
th place with a time of 17:14.94.
Wesleyan also fielded a boat in the collegiate fours event later in the afternoon as
Noa Pesner '24 was the coxswain for a lineup that featured
Cadence Cole '26,
Elizabeth Myers '23,
Elise McCamant '24, and
Dani Harrington '23. The boat finished in 16
th place out of 35 with a time of 19:49.37.
Just one regatta remains in the fall season as the Cardinals travel to Saratoga Springs, New York for the Head of the Fish on Saturday, October 29.
