SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Wesleyan men's crew team capped a sensational fall season with another impressive showing at the Head of the Fish on Saturday afternoon.
Wesleyan's varsity 8 boat featuring Asher Israel '26, Joe Kagan '23, Chris Saade '25, Oliver Diamond '23, Emmett Nunes '23, Nelson Bellows '26, Paul Kiyonaga '25, Hugo Harington '25 and Pierce Buckner-Wolfson '26 finished in third place out of 17 boats racing in the men's collegiate eight. Placing behind only MIT and Williams' A lineup, the Cardinals clocked in at 10:17.72.
The Cardinals' second varsity 8 boat performed well in men's collegiate 2V eight event, finishing as the runner-up out of 14 boats behind only MIT and ahead of boats from Tufts and Williams. Crossing the line in 10:36.77, Wesleyan's lineup of Leo Rosenblum '25, Max Ewing '24, Freddie Bell '25, Oliver Saffery '23, Teddy Manning '25, Kiran Kling '23, Brett Beaman '26, Jack Cornog '26, and Andrew Steinert '25 continued a sensational day out on the water.
Wesleyan had two more boats in the water in the 2V eight event. Racing to a seventh place finish was Meg Rubenstein '25, Cory Reavy '26, Nate Newcomer '25, Eli Kooistra '25, Eli Smirin '26, Nader Moghadam '25, Nick Dillon '23, Josh Silbert '26, and Otis Harrison '26.
With a five-month lull between competitions, the Cardinals will be back in the water on Saturday, April 1 with a dual race against Coast Guard.
