CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Wesleyan men's track & field team traveled to MIT on Saturday to compete in the Gordon Kelly Invite.
The Cardinals posted a win in the 4x200m relay as the group of
Will Ruden-Sella '25,
Griffin Maristany '22,
Sam Musto '24 and
Emmett Perry '25 won the 4x400m with a time of 3:35.81.
Musto went on to place third out of 24 in the 400m event, running in 51.43 seconds. Although he was a second off his personal-best, Musto has consistently posted a strong 400m and will be looking to break the record in the next year or two. Currently, his best is just half a second short of the record.
Alex Geula '25 won the 800m, the lone Cardinal to post a first place finish outside of the relay. Geula finished in 2:06.26 and was closely followed by
Aidan Ward '24 who place third in the race with a time of 2:08.60.
Harry Kim '25 was solid in the 200m, taking 12
th place in a field of 32 with a personal-best time of 24.32 seconds. In the 1000m,
Ethan Walker '22 gave a great effort to take third place out of 13 with a personal-best time of 2:40.54, eclipsing his previous-best time by nearly two full seconds.
Nate Fogarty '25 showed well in the one mile, taking fourth place as he crossed the line in 4:36.20.
Noah Olsen '22 took fourth place in the high jump with a mark of 1.90m.
Nick Helbig '23 threw a personal-best 13.98m in the weight throw to give him ninth place out of 38.
Looking forward, Wesleyan will next travel to Providence to take part in the Brown University Invite. The meet will take place over Saturday, February 19
th.
