NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's crew team took first place in two of three events against Coast Guard in a dual meet on Saturday morning on the Thames River.
The Varsity 8 boat (
Haley Fish '22 - coxswain,
Hayden Galusza '22,
Joe Kagan '23, Chris Saade '25,
Oliver Diamond '23,
Paul Kiyonaga '25,
Jimmy McShane '22, Hugo Harrington '25 and
Inesh Vytheswaran '25) earned an impressive win with a near-17 second cushion as the Cardinals clocked in at 5:50.9 in the 1800m course, defeating the Bears' V8 boat which had a time of 6:07.8.
Wesleyan continued to roll with a win in the second V8 boat (

Hudson Dore '22), clocking in at 5:58.8 to defeat Coast Guard's squad who came in with a time of 6:05.5.
The Bears did manage a win in the third V8 portion, defeating the Cardinals' unit (

The Cardinals return to the water on Saturday when they head to Worcester to compete against WPI, Colby and UMass.
