Hazard and Collins selected as USA Lacrosse Magazine All-Americans

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The USA Lacrosse Magazine announced their 2022 All-Americans on Thursday with two Wesleyan men's lacrosse players earning spots on the All-America teams. Junior attack Justin Hazard '23 was picked to the Third Team while junior defender Nolan Collins '23 was an honorable mention.

Hazard has led the Cardinal attack with 54 goals and 27 assists for a team-leading 81 points in 17 games. Hazard hit the 50-goal milestone in Wesleyan's NESCAC Quarterfinal win over Middlebury at home on April 30, becoming just the fourth player in program history to record a 50-goal season. Hazard is fifth in the NESCAC in goals and goals per game (3.18) while his 54 goals have come on only 102 shots, giving him a .529 shooting percentage that is one of the top marks in the nation.

Collins has been the lynchpin in the Cardinal defense throughout 2022, heading into the NCAA Tournament this weekend with 54 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers. His caused turnover total leads the team and is tied for third in the NESCAC while his 54 ground balls leads the team among non-faceoff specialists. Collins has even added an offensive element to his game this season, racking up four assists.

Wesleyan will be back in action on Saturday, May 14 against Rensselaer in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Opening faceoff is set for 3 PM from the campus of Christopher Newport.
