WASHINGTON, D.C. & LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 23 ranked Wesleyan women's squash team picked up a 7-1 win over Dension on Saturday afternoon, rebounding after prior defeats to No. 15 Georgetown on Friday night and No. 25 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday morning. Wesleyan (3-3) hosts Conn. College on Wednesday night in the Cardinals' final match of 2023.

Opening the weekend facing No. 15 Georgetown on Friday night in D.C., the Cardinals were handed a 9-0 defeat to the Hoyas.
Mira Bakshi '26 managed to win a game at #3 against Aarohi Kuthari before falling in four sets. The remaining eight matches all were decided in 9-0 wins for Georgetown.
Starting with the Diplomats on Saturday morning, the Cardinals dominated the bottom portion of the lineup, earning wins at #5, #7, #8, and #9 by way of 3-0 sweeps, but crucially lost two matches that went to five sets and another two that were decided in four sets as F&M pulled out a 5-4 victory.
Marangela James '24 needed just 10 minutes to win 11-1, 11-2, 11-2 at #9 while
Julissa Mota '26 won 12-10, 11-1, 11-6 at #8,
Leandra Sze '26 scored a 11-6, 11-7, 11-7 win at #7, and
Jaclyn Dichter '26 secured a 11-3, 11-8, 11-1 victory at #5. However, all five remaining matches went to the Diplomats including a comeback win in five sets for Zarine Gidwaney over
Penelope Furnas (11-9, 11-5, 5-11, 6-11, 3-11) at #4 while Tatum Long took down
Laila Kewalramani '24 (9-11, 11-9, 11-3, 8-11, 8-11) at #6.
The Cardinals rebounded from the tough defeat to F&M and managed to earn a 7-1 win over Denison to complete the weekend. Bakshi, Kewalramani, James,
Marveya Velasquez '27, and
Yeisy Velasquez '27 all landed 3-0 wins over the Big Red while Dichter won her match at #3 in four sets.
