PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The No. 10 ranked Wesleyan women's crew team put together a great day of racing, earning two first place finishes out of three races on Saturday at the 54
th annual Little Three Championship hosted by Williams from Onota Lake.
In the varsity 8 race, Williams earned back the Elizabeth Neal Trophy as the Ephs managed a time of 7:30.3 which was 2.9 seconds faster than Wesleyan's 7:33.2.
Wesleyan, however, bounced back in the next two races and captured wins in both. The 2
nd varsity 8 boat clocked in at an impressive 7:33.5 to earn the Williams Crew Class of 2000 award as the Ephs were well beaten at 7:42.2.
The final race of the morning saw the Cardinals' 3
rd varsity 8 boat take on the 3
rd and 4
th varsity 8's from Williams. Benefitting from a strong start, the Cardinals never looked back and won with a time of 8:01.8 compared to 8:11.5 for the Ephs' 3
rd varsity 8 and 8:45.9 for the 4
th varsity 8 boat.
Wesleyan stays in-state for their next competition, which is slated for Saturday, April 29 from Coventry Lake against Trinity.
