MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's track & field team placed third at the Little Three Championships held on Saturday from the Bacon Field House. The Cardinals scored 83 points on the day while Amherst took the title with 152 points, ahead of the Ephs who scored 110.
Alex Kermath '26 was the winner of the 3000m, as the sophomore finished more than three seconds clear of the field, running the event in 8:45.08.
Liam Calhoun '26 was second-best in the same event, recording an 8:48.16.
Zach Allen '27 also showed well, finishing in sixth place at 8:59.06.
The second event winner on the day was
Javier Orellana '25 who threw a personal-best 14.41m in the shot put, besting the runner-up by 1.34m.
Wesleyan's 4x800m relay earned a runner-up finish as
Nate Fogarty '25,
Owen Zinn-Keane '26,
George Lepska '25, and
Luke Consolati '25 combined for a time of 8:17.51.
Kyle Roshankish '24 recorded a third-place finish in the 400m, crossing the line in 53.95 seconds. Lepska earned three points for the Cardinals with his fourth place showing in the one mile, clocking in at 4:23.89.
Carlo Fedolfi '27 led the Cardinals in the 60m, placing sixth overall with a time of 7.26 seconds.
Patrick Schechtman-Taylor '26 finished in eighth place in the 200m, crossing the line in 24.56 seconds.
Anish Visht '24 posted a mark of 3.65m in the pole vault, good enough for sixth place.
Jerry Gong '27 led the Cardinals with a 6.12m in the long jump, placing seventh.
Rami Hayes-Messinger '26 was fourth in the weight throw (personal-best 13.98m) and fourth in the shot put (12.66m).
Next up for the Cardinals is a trip to Staten Island for the Ocean Breeze Invite on Friday, January 19.
