Dichter leads women’s squash in 7-2 loss to No. 17 William Smith

CLINTON, N.Y.  – The Wesleyan women's squash team fell in non-conference action to No. 17 William Smith College on Friday night. Sophomore Jaclyn Dichter led the team with a match victory.

RESULTS

In one of the longest matches of the night at 31 minutes, Dichter pulled through at No. 5, winning the match in four games. Dichter won the first game 11-9, but William Smiths' Jada Smith-Padmore rallied back in the second game with an 11-6 win. Dichter took the final two games, 11-8 and 11-2 for the 3-1 match win.

Portia Pliam '25 won by default in the No. 8 spot.

At No. 10, Julissa Mota '26 swept her match against Brianna Lucero 3-0. Through all three games, Mota posted 11-6, 11-7, and 12-10 game wins.

The squash team returns to the court on Saturday, Jan. 20, when they face Hamilton in NESCAC action beginning at 1 p.m.
