MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Cardinals' men's track & field team hosted the Wesleyan Indoor Invite on Saturday from the Bacon Field House. With Middlebury's New England Small College Invitational on Sunday, the Cardinals fielded a small squad at home on Saturday with a trip to the Track at New Balance in Boston on-deck.
With competitors fielded in just the 800m, one mile, long jump, and triple jump, the one mile group stood out for Wesleyan as all five Cardinals placed in the Top 10, including the event winner in
Nate Fogarty '25. The junior clocked in at 4:21.90, earning a personal-best finish, and top spot in a field of 27 runners. Right behind in second place was
Alex Kermath '26 who had a time of 4:23.68 while
Aidan Ward '24 was third at 4:29.91,
Jude Mourad '27 finished fifth (4:41.19), and
Dylan Arluk placed eighth (4:44.73).
Earning a fifth place finish in the 800m was
Simon Chidley '25 as he clocked in at 2:05.81. Arluk also competed in the 800m, earning ninth place at 2:11.11.
Jerry Gong '27 led the way for Wesleyan in the long jump as his mark of 5.93m was good enough for sixth place.
Josh Ng '27 placed seventh with 5.90m and
Harry Kim '25 was 15
th (5.39m).
Daniel Bench '27 rounded out the field for Wesleyan with an eighth place finish in the triple jump (11.95m).
Wesleyan travels to Boston overnight for the New England Small College Invitational which is set to begin at 9 AM on Sunday.
