WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. – Coming off a Saturday afternoon upset of No. 19 Bates, the Wesleyan women's squash team fell in NESCAC action to No. 14 Williams College on Sunday evening, 9-0, from the Simon Squash Center. It was just the second time this season that the women have been swept down the lineup.
The Cardinals fall to 9-7 overall and 4-4 in the NESCAC as the Ephs advance to 8-8 overall and 5-2 in the NESCAC.
Jaclyn Dichter '26 in the No. 5 spot had the longest match of the evening, going 43 minutes as she forced Anika Kakarla to four games. Dichter won the second game 12-10, but ultimately was defeated 3-1 overall.
At No. 8,
Portia Pliam '25 also forced a fourth game, winning the third game of the match 11-6, but Deena Iqbal came back and won the final game of the match as Pliam fell 3-1.
The Cardinals' next outing will be the NESCAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 10, and Sunday, Feb. 11, at Amherst.
