Michelle Jorba '25 | Outside Hitter | First Team
A Second Team selection as a junior, Jorba makes All-NESCAC First Team for the first time in her career after enjoying another outstanding season to finish off her career. Jorba set single-season career-highs in kills (231), attack percentage (.268), digs (50), total blocks (64), and points (270.5) while playing all 25 matches for the Cardinals.
Â
She led the team in kills, producing 10 matches with 10+ kills this season, matching her career-high with 17 kills in both matches against Trinity. Her best performance came in a three-set sweep of Trinity in the regular season where she produced 17 kills, hitting .533 with just one attack error in 30 attempts. In NESCAC only matches, she ranked Top 10 in attack percentage (.269) and kills per set (2.83).
Bianca Gonya '25 | Middle Blocker | Second Team
Dynamic on both offense and defense, Gonya's senior year is one of the best statistical seasons from a Cardinal middle blocker in quite some time. For the year, Gonya played all 25 matches and established new career-highs across the board in kills (129), hitting percentage (.349), service aces (11), digs (57), total blocks (107), and points (212).
Â
Gonya's .349 attack percentage was easily the best in the NESCAC, as the next-closest player hit .319. The 107 total blocks led all NESCAC players and is the highest single-season by a Wesleyan player since Erin Reding '06 had 124 total blocks back in 2005. Gonya shined in a four-set win over Amherst, finishing with seven kills (.438), two aces, six digs, and eight total blocks. For the year, she had at least five total blocks in 12-of-25 matches.
