MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team saw four players –
Imani Ochieng '25,
Kenzie Kelly '25,
Georgia Adams '26, and
Audrey Pace '26 – earn All-Region II honors as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Wednesday afternoon. Ochieng made it on the All-Region First Team list while Kelly, Adams, and Pace were named to the Second Team.
This is the second career All-Region selection for Ochieng, Adams, and Pace while Kelly earns All-Region honors for the first time. Ochieng was a Second Team selection in 2023 while Adams and Pace were both First Team picks last season. The four total All-Region honorees match a team record and is the highest single-season total since 2010.
Ochieng makes All-Region First Team for the first time in his career, continuing to shine at right back all throughout the 2024 season for the Cardinals. She started all 18 games and ranked second among field players with 961 minutes played. Ochieng closed out her career starting 51 consecutive games while the senior played every possible game since the start of her sophomore year in 2022. A dynamic two-way player, Ochieng registered four goals and 13 assists for 21 career points. She posted two goals and two assists this season while ranking second on the team with 31 shots as her sweeping ability was a key weapon on penalty corners all year.
A dynamic presence in the midfield over the past four years, Kelly receives All-Region distinction for the first time after starting all 64 possible games over her four-year career. An All-American track athlete, Kelly's speed was a constant force, but her goal-scoring peaked in 2024, finishing the season with a career-high seven goals. After a strong junior year wherein, she posted her first career 10-point season (two goals, six assists in 2023), Kelly broke out as a senior with 18 points on seven goals and four assists in 18 games. She set single-season careers-highs in goals, points, shots, shots on-goal, and was 2-for-2 on penalty strokes.
The driving force behind the highest-scoring team in Wesleyan field hockey history, Adams produced a second straight 30-point season, sporting totals of 15 goals and six assists while starting all 18 games. Adams' six assists are a new career-high while her 15 goals are one off her 2023 total. She led the team in goals, assists, points, shots (70), and shots-on-goal (51) this year. Adams recorded five multi-goal games in 2024 while she netted her first career hat trick, finishing with three goals and one assist in Wesleyan's 4-2 win over Colby on October 26.
Pace makes the All-Region list for the second straight year after starting all 18 possible games in 2024, recording a 1.57 goals against average and .764 save percentage on her way to a 12-6 record. The 2023 All-American backed up that campaign with another outstanding season, setting new personal-bests in goals against average. Pace had three games with 10+ saves in 2024 while she recorded her first career shutout in a 2-0 win over Ithaca in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, which also signaled the first NCAA Tournament win in team history.
