BOSTON, MA. – Two relay teams and
Javier Orellana '25 led the Wesleyan men's track and field team on Sunday afternoon with three sixth place finishes as Wesleyan competed at the New England Division III Championships at The Track at New Balance, placing 18
th overall out of a field of 28 institutions.
RESULTS
The Cardinals finished the afternoon with three Top 20 finishes and four Top 10 placements later in the day.
Orellana threw a season-best distance in the shot put, putting away a 14.90m result that was good enough for a Top 10 finish in sixth place.
The 4x800m relay team of
Luke Consolati '25,
George Lepska '25,
Nate Fogarty '25, and Alex Guela '25 combined for a final time of 7:56.80 for a final sixth-place finish.
Rob D'Aquila '26,
Carlo Fedolfi '27,
Ben Taffet '26, and
Zach Allen '27 finished in sixth place in the men's distance relay, crossing the line at 10:25.12.
Fogarty placed ninth with a final time of 4:17.37 in the men's mile race, a season-best time.
Lepska and Guela both placed in the 600m event, Lepska taking 11
th at 1:23.50, a season-best time, and Guela taking 16
th with a 1:24.07.
Taffet ran a 2:36.33 in the 1,000m event, placing 20
th.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, March 1, and Saturday March 2. The men will be competing at both the Open New England Championships at The Track at New Balance and the Tufts Last Chance Meet in Medford, MA.
