MEDFORD, Mass. – The Wesleyan men's track & field team wrapped up two days of competition at the Tufts Cupid Challenge over the weekend. The Cardinals totaled seven Top 10 finished across all events.
The 1000m group led the way with three Top 10 finishers, with
Rob D'Aquila '26 leading the way with a personal-best time of 2:34.81 that was good enough for fourth place out of 22 runners.
Ben Taffet '26 also set a PR with a time of 2:37.09, placing sixth, while
Bruce Lenes '26 crossed the line in eighth place (2:38.06).
Two more Top 10 finishers for the Cardinals came in the 600m as
Alex Geula '25 completed the event in 1:24.89, finishing sixth out of 23 in the event. Right behind was
Luke Consolati '25, finishing in seventh place at 1:25.45.
Daniel Bench '27 impressed in the triple jump, posting a new season-best mark of 12.23m, which was good enough for sixth place out of 18.
Javier Orellana '25 tied with D'Aquila for the highest-finisher in the competition for the Cardinals as he finished fourth in the shot put at 14.08m.
Wesleyan heads back to the Ocean Breeze Complex next weekend for a two-day competition in Staten Island on February 9-10.
