KLAGENFURT, Austria – Aimée Seppenwolde '26, a sophomore defender for the Wesleyan women's ice hockey team, is set to compete for Team Netherlands at the 2024 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Division I Women's World Championship. The competition takes place from April 21-27 at the Heidi Horten Arena in Austria with the winning team advancing to the top division of the IIHF Women's Worlds, competing alongside world powers United States and Canada.  This is Seppenwolde's second time competing for Team Netherlands at the IIHF Women's World Championship Division I play, as she played in five games at the 2023 World Championship, totaling two goals and one assist with a +1 plus/minus rating playing forward for the Dutch. The Netherlands finished as the runner-up at the 2023 World Championship held last August, landing wins over Slovakia, Austria, and Norway.

Seppenwolde was a major contributor on the blue line for the Cardinals throughout a transformative 2023-24 season that saw Wesleyan finish 12-10-3 overall and land seven wins in an always challenging NESCAC slate. She finished the season with six points (one goal, five assists), 66 shots, 20 blocked shots, and a +2 plus/minus rating in 24 games played. Seppenwolde took only four penalties all season and has played in 43 career games as a rising junior for the Cardinals.
