MEDFORD, MA. – Leading the way for the Wesleyan men's track and field team was
George Lepska '25 with a fifth-place finish in the men's 800m event as the Cardinals placed 10
th at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday at Tufts University with 12 points. Wesleyan took home six Top 10 placements.
Lepska's fifth-place finish in the 800m resulted from a final time of 1:53.83. Lepska was followed by teammate
Nate Fogarty '25 in 10
th place, clocking in at 1:55.87.
Sam Musto '24 placed 14
th in the 400m race, running a time of 49.54.
In the 1500m, a trio of Cardinals was led by
Liam Calhoun '26 with a final placement at 11
th with a 3:55.26.
Rob D'Aquila '26 was 18
th as he came in at 4:00.94. Wrapping up the Top 20 was
Bruce Lenes '26, running a 4:02.26.
Leading another trio in the 5K race was
Aidan Ward '24 as he placed ninth at 15:10.02.
Noah Mahoney '27 cracked the Top 10 at 10, running a 15:11.77.
Alex Kermath '26 was 15
th at 15:19.98.
In the pole vault,
Anish Visht '24 finished with a height of 3.95m as he finished in 15
th.
Daniel Bench '27 placed 18
th in the triple jump with a distance of 12.24m and was joined by
Josh Ng '27 in 19
th at 11.77m.
Throwing for 14.48m, Javier Orelanna '25 placed seventh in the shot put.
Will Dollhopf '25 was 15
th in the hammer throw with a final throw of 38.70m.
Rami Hayes-Messinger '26 led the Cardinals in the javelin throw, placing seventh with a distance of 47.79m.
Eli Liedtka '27 followed in 11
th place with 42.83m. Liedtka also placed 13
th in the discus throw, going for 39.14m.
The Cardinals' 4x800 relay team of
Ben Taffet '26,
Alex Geula '25, Fogarty, and Lepska combined for a fifth-place finish, finishing with a time of 7:48.92.
The men will spend the week preparing for the New England Division III Championships on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4.
