Men’s Soccer Earns Five All-NESCAC Selections and NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year

MIDDLETOWN, CT. – After earning the #2 seed in the NESCAC with a 5-1-4 conference record, the Wesleyan University men's soccer program picked up the most All-NESCAC selections since 2009 and a record four, First Team honorees as head coach Geoff Wheeler and staff earn the 2025 Coaching Staff of the Year award, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Coaching Staff of the Year | Head Coach: Geoff Wheeler | Assistants: Ken Pollard, Dan Gasper, and Rob Stone
Wheeler-Feldman

In his 27th season at the helm of the men's soccer program, head coach Geoff Wheeler earns his fourth Coach of the Year honor (2005, 2009, 2021). With a standing 210-154-56 record, Wheeler once again led his team to the NESCAC Championship and the NCAA Tournament. This season the Cardinals hold a 9-4-4 overall record while finishing NESCAC play with a 5-1-4 campaign. Earning the #2 seed in the conference for the first time since 2013, the Cardinals made their 22nd overall appearance and reached the NESCAC semifinals for the first time in 10 years.

The Cardinals won their first outright Little Three Championship since 2011 after ousting the reigning NCAA National Champions, Amherst, and then No. 1 Williams. While also taking out Middlebury in the process, the Cardinals ran a seven-game unbeaten streak through the middle of the season. The Cardinals shut out six opponents this season, including Williams and Middlebury and will make their second-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the seventh overall.

A keystone of Wheeler's 2025 team has been their ability to persevere in the face of adversity. Twice this season the Cardinals have upended the Mammoths in comeback victories. In both meetings the Cardinals put away last-second goals to topple the Little Three adversary with a 2-1 win on Oct. 4, and the 3-2 buzzer-beater victory in the NESCAC quarterfinal. Against the top-ranked Ephs, the Cardinals' defense held out for 75 minutes following the opening, game-winning goal.

Zach Feldman '27 | First Team | Defense
Zach Feldman

The two-time All-NESCAC selection earns his second honor in a row as a member of the First Team (Second Team, 2024). Seeing action as a starter in 14, Feldman certainly rose the occasion as a captain this year, helping to lead the defense in the absence of fellow captain Will Geballe.

The defense once again proved pivotal to the Cardinals' success this season as Feldman and the Cardinals' back line have allowed just 11 shots on goal per game with 15 overall goals crossing the line. The Cardinals came up strong in point-clinching draws with Tufts and Conn while helping goalkeepers Mathis Blanc and Josh Nadison secure six shutouts.

In the two sudden death games with the Mammoths, Feldman and the defense kept the attack at bay to leave room for the possibility of a win, and secure the win they did.

Aiden Londergan '27 | First Team | Midfield
Aiden Londergan

Earning first career conference honors, the Cardinals' leading scorer earns First Team keep in his junior year. Marking seven goals and three assists for 15 points, Londergan has seen starting lineup action in all 17 games played.

Londergan's emergence at the midfield has been one of the many highlights of the season. With three game-winning goals against Amherst, Williams, and Middlebury, Londergan's prowess became a top threat in the conference. Londergan's game winner over Middlebury was key to what was a massive NESCAC upset at the time and following a four-goal week in which his scored the game winner over Williams before putting up three against Trinity, Londergan earned his first Player of the Week honors from the conference. Londergan's hat trick against the Bantams was the first for a Cardinal since 2015.

Facing the Mammoths in the NESCAC quarterfinal, the Cardinals found themselves tied up with 10 minutes on the clock in what looked to be a post-season overtime performance. But with 14 seconds remaining on the clock, Londergan struck and advanced the Cardinals to the semifinal.

Within the NESCAC, Londergan ranks fourth in goals, fourth in points and fifth in game-winning goals. He is one of four soccer players in the conference to score a hat trick this season.

Yousuf Saeed '27 | First Team | Midfield
Yousuf Saeed

Another member of the junior class, Saeed earns First Team honors in his first All-NESCAC selection. Seeing 17 starts in 17 games played, Saeed has logged the most minutes of any offensive player on this squad, recording just over 1300 minutes. Marking five goals, four assists, and 14 points, Saeed has also snagged a game-winning goal and is one goal on one attempt on the Cardinals' penalty kick efforts.

Saeed opened the season with a five-point night against Western New England, scoring two goals and assisting on another to complete his game. Saeed went on to score the game winner over WestConn, Quick on his feet and quick to fire on any and all goalkeepers, Saeed leads all Cardinals in shooting with 43 total shots and 20 on goal.

Amongst his NESCAC peers, Saeed ranks fifth in shots on goal, averaging 1.18 per game, and seventh in shots overall, averaging 2.53 per game.

Joshwin Jennings '27 | First Team | Forward
Joshwin Jennings

Arguably one of the best offensive presences in the conference, Jennings earns his first career All-NESCAC honors as a member of the first team. Earning starting lineup privileges in all 17 games played, Jennings holds four goals and four assists for 12 points.

Jennings opened the season with the game-winning goal over WNE and closed NESCAC play with Player of the Week honors. Following two pivotal game-tying goals against Conn. in the regular season finale and Amherst in the quarterfinal, Jennings was the talk of the weekly awards. While the matchup with the Camels ended in a 1-1 draw, Jennings' tying goal secured a much-needed point to clinch the #2 seed heading into the conference championship. Down 2-1 to the Mammoths with 10 minutes to go, Jennings again put the ball in the back of the net to hold space for Londergan.

Mathis Blanc '26 | Second Team | Goalkeeper
Mathis Blanc
Marking his senior season as the starting goalkeeper for the Cardinals, Blanc earns his first All-NESCAC honors as a Second Team selection. Starting in 16 of 17 games, Blanc is 8-4-3 on the season with a .808 save percentage marking 63 saves on 151 shots faced. Blanc holds five shutouts this season including two over Middlebury and Williams. Among NESCAC goalkeepers, Blanc ranks fifth in saves.

Blanc was named the NESCAC Player of the Week on Sept. 29, following a 1-0-1 week for the Cardinals. The Cardinals blanked the Panthers in game one, Blanc making a career-high eight saves. The Cardinals followed that performance with a 1-1 draw with Tufts as Blanc recorded one save through 90 minutes.

A powerhouse of talent amongst this team, Blanc has been a stronghold for the Cardinals his entire career. Blanc is 22-12-10 all time and holds a .789 career save percentage making 157 saves.

The Cardinals will play host to the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament, facing Lehman College on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m.
