Women’s Squash Downed by No. 17 Colby, 7-2

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's squash team dropped a home match to No. 17 Colby by a score of 7-2 on Sunday afternoon from the Rosenbaum Squash Center. The Cardinals drop to 2-2 on the year while the Mules are now 1-1 on the season.

  • Caroline Caiati '28 and Ellie Tiedemann '29 were victories at the #8 and #9 spots in the lineup, respectively. Caiati took down Haley Coon in a 3-1 win at #8, winning three straight games to close out the victory (12-14, 11-9, 11-6, 11-7). Tiedemann followed the same trajectory at #9, losing the first game only to win three straight to close out a 3-1 win (9-11, 11-7, 12-10, 11-8).
  • Aanya Anand '26 won one game in her match at #3 against Abhisheka David, winning the third game 11-9.
  • Katherine Risden '28 won 24 total points in a close 11-9, 11-9, 11-6 loss at #5 to Tattie Gibbs while Leandra Sze '26 won 22 total points in her match at #6 against Amanda Miller.
  • Saara Saini '29 won an exhibition match at #10 against Avery LaMotte in convincing fashion (11-2, 11-3, 11-1).
The Cardinals return to the courts on Sunday, December 7 against Conn. College at 11 AM in Middletown.
