MIDDLETOWN, CT. - Finishing the weekend with two second-place finishes,
Ella Hall '28 led the Wesleyan women's swimming and diving team at the Jayden Szkirka Memorial Championship, the first home meet for Wesleyan this season.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Featured first in the 3-meter dive, Hall scored a 229.40 before finishing the weekend with a 218.60 in the 1-meter dive. Hall was joined by teammate Hazel Baldwin '29 in the dive pool, Baldwin placing third in both the 3-meter (222.85) and the 1-meter (210.10).
- The Cardinals had strong showings in the 200-yard back and the 100-yard free, scoring four placements in the Top 10 in each event.
- In the 200 back, Mia Dezelic '26 placed third with a 2:07.14. Summer DeWitt '29 placed sixth (2:11.56), Keira Walsh '28 placed seventh (2:13.54), and Jacqueline Constantine '28 was eighth (2:15.71). The 100 free saw James LaCroix '27 place fifth with a 54.13. Zoe Kuhn '26 was sixth (54.28), Charlotte Fishman '29 was eighth (54.55), and Anne Conway '26 was 10th (55.02).
- Kuhn opened the weekend with a third-place finish in the 50-yard free, touching the wall at 24.61. The 1,650-yard free distance event saw Elena Baird '26 take third, finishing in 18:14.52.
- Placing fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, Sara Bohacek '26 swam a 1:07.07 before Dezelic placed fourth in the 100-yard back at 59.17.
- The 200-yard free relay team closed out a third-place finish with Dezelic, LaCroix, Conway, and Kuhn combining for 1:37.78. The 400-yard free relay was a fourth-place finish at 3:36.15 with the same squad.
The Cardinals return to the pool in 2026, kicking off the second half of the season on Saturday, Jan. 3, when they host Babson.
